Answers to the most common questions.
Do I have to talk about everything in detail?
No. Healing doesn’t require retelling or reliving every experience. Approaches like EMDR, IFS, somatic inquiry, and KAP allow us to work with what’s present in your nervous system and body, often without needing to go into explicit detail. You stay in control of what you share, at all times.
What if I’m not sure my experiences “count” as trauma?
You don’t need a specific label for your pain to be valid. Trauma can come from big, obvious events. It can also come from chronic stress, emotional neglect, relational wounds, or long periods of overwhelm. If something still affects how you feel, relate, or function today, it’s worth exploring.
Is EMDR safe?
Yes. EMDR is an evidence-based therapy used worldwide for trauma, anxiety, and stress-related concerns. Sessions are paced carefully, with preparation and resourcing to ensure you feel grounded and supported throughout the process.
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy like?
KAP is a carefully structured process that includes preparation, a dosing session supported by a medical provider, and integration therapy. Many clients describe the experience as gentle, introspective, and clarifying. The goal isn’t escape, but deeper understanding and healing.
Will I lose control or feel “out of it”?
You remain aware and supported throughout the process. In both EMDR and KAP, your sense of choice, consent, and safety is central. We move at a pace that feels right for you, and you can pause or stop at any time.
Is this only for severe mental health concerns?
Not at all. Clients seek this work for many reasons: trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship patterns, or feeling disconnected from themselves. This work supports growth, resilience, and deeper self-understanding and not just symptom relief.
How will I know if this is right for me?
The best first step is a consultation. We’ll talk about your goals, your concerns, and whether EMDR, KAP, or another approach feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure – just curiosity and care.
Do you accept insurance?
To protect your confidentiality and allow therapy to be guided by clinical need rather than insurance requirements, I do not participate in insurance panels.
I’m happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurer to understand your benefits.
How do I book an appointment?
I maintain a focused, intentional practice so that each client receives thoughtful, individualized care. If you are considering working together, there are two ways to begin.
You’re welcome to complete the contact form, and I will personally respond within 1 to 2 business days. If you prefer, you may also schedule a complimentary consultation directly through the booking link.
This initial conversation is a space to connect, clarify what you’re seeking, and explore whether the work feels aligned.
What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?
Many people seek EMDR or KAP after feeling stuck in traditional talk therapy. These approaches work differently, engaging the nervous system, the body, and the brain in new ways, which can open doors when insight alone hasn’t been enough.
